Announcement from Board of Imams regarding Eid-ul-Fitr 2009
Please find the following communication from the Board of Imams reproduced below:

In the name of Allah SWT, the most Gracious and the most Merciful.

ANNOUNCEMENT: 1ST DAY OF SHAWWAL 1430 (Edul Fitr -2009)

All praise be to Allah (SWT) the most Gracious and the most Merciful

The Board of Imams Victoria is pleased to announce that the first day of Shawwal 1430 will be on

Sunday 20th of September 2009 Insha Allah.
The Astronomical New Moon is expected to be on Friday, 18th of
September, 2009 at 18:44 Universal time (04.44 Melbourne time) in
Australia and thus the first possible visibility of the new moon
(hilal) after sunset will be on Saturday, 19th September 2009.

The
member Imams of the Board of Imams Victoria (BOIV) send their warmest
Eidul Fitr greetings to all Victorian Muslims and the entire Muslim
community all over Australia.

EID PRAYER AT MONASH UNIVERSITY

Venue: Monash Sport, Monash University Clayton (grass area at the footy ovals)

Time: 8.00AM

We are in need of volunteers to help set up the place with mats and to help cleaning afterwards.

Please make sure to bring your prayer mats or sheets if you have any, since there may not be enough prayer mats from the mosque.

Don't forget to bring along your family and friends!

The
committee would also like to thank those who came and helped out at our
campus iftars, your support was very much appreciated.
