Eid-Ul-Adha Prayers

The Monash University Mosque will be conducting Eid-Ul-Adha prayers.

DATE: Friday, 27 November 2009
VENUE: Oval 2, Monash University, Clayton Campus.
Note: Parking in the area marked blue is free

TIME: 8.00am (thakbir) to pray at 8.30 am sharp
IMAM: Sheik Abu Omar

Meat Distribution (from Udhya)


If you'd like to share part of your sacrifice with the Muslim community around Monash, please bring the meat to Beddoe mosque after Asr prayer (515 pm) from the second day of eid. The meat wil distributed by volunteers ( you can help if you would like) from 6 onwards, Inshallah.

Tomorrow is the day of Arafah so I encourage myself and everyone else to fast and step up on the good deeds.

ANNOUNCEMENT. (Eidul Adha -1430)

The Astronomical New Moon is on November 16, 2009 (Monday) at 19:14 UT. This moon cannot be seen anywhere in the world. Hence according to astronomical calculations, the month of Zul Hijja 1430 will begin on Wednesday 18th
November 2009.

Thus the Board of Imams Victoria is pleased to announce that Eid ul Adha 1430 will be on Friday 27th November 2009 Insha Allah.

It is confirmed by Authorities in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that ‘Arafah date for Hajj is on Thursday, 26th November ,and Eid ul Adha is on Friday 27th
November 2009.

The member Imams of the Board of Imams Victoria (BOIV) send their warmest Eidul Adha greetings to all Victorian Muslims and the entire Muslim community all over Australia.

We wish a happy and virtuous Eidul Adha for all.
